You can stop paying into your now:pensions account at any time. But, if it’s been more than a month since you were enrolled, you won’t get your payments back. Your pension savings will stay invested until you retire and start to take your money, or you transfer your pension savings out to another pension.
If you tell us you want to stop paying in within one month of being enrolled, or within one month of receiving your enrolment notice (whichever is later), you’ll get any money you’ve paid into your now:pensions account back.
Yes. You can stop paying into your now:pensions account at any time by going to Stop paying in now.
But if it’s more than a month since you were enrolled, your pension savings will stay in your now:pensions account until you:
- retire and start taking your money, or
- move your money out to another pension provider (once you’ve stopped paying in).
Your pension savings always belong to you. They stay in now:pensions and we carry on looking after them. They’ll stay invested until you retire and start to take your money, or you transfer your pension savings out to another pension provider.
You’re still a member of now:pensions. You have full access to your now:pensions account and the money in it belongs to you. You can carry on using now:u to manage your pension savings. For example, you can choose a different planned retirement age, or change who you want to pass your savings on to when you die.

You can start paying into your now:pensions account again at any time. If you do, your workplace will also re-start its payments.
Use the now:u app or do it online. From your Snapshot, go to Start saving and follow the instructions.
