Employers How to set up your payroll bureau on now:u

If you’ve decided to use a payroll bureau to manage your workplace pension, you normally add them when you’re setting up your workplace pension.

Getting them set up

Before you start, you’ll need to check whether your payroll bureau has set themselves up to use now:u. This will give them a payroll bureau number.

From Set up your payroll bureau – Who will manage the payroll for your organisation? choose A payroll bureau or other third-party organisation.

Put in your payroll bureau’s number. The system will search for your payroll bureau. Once it finds your payroll bureau, choose what access level you’d like them to have.

  • Full access: they can manage everything on your behalf, including uploading pension data files, downloading employee action files and adding new users to your workplace account.
  • General access: they can manage everything on your behalf, except adding new users to your workplace account.
  • Read-only access: they can see your workplace account but not take any action on your behalf.

If your payroll bureau isn’t set up on now:u

Choose My payroll bureau isn’t set up with now:pensions. Once they’ve set themselves up to use now:u, you’ll be able to link their now:pensions account to yours later by going to Account settings – Manage users Manage payroll bureau users and putting in their payroll bureau number .

Editing your payroll bureau’s details

Log into now:u and go to Account settings – Manage users – Manage payroll bureau users to see and edit your payroll bureau’s details.
