John Rowland

Non-Executive Chairman

John Rowland has held a number of senior roles in the financial services sector, both in the UK and globally.

During a 15-year career with Invesco, he held a range of positions in the US and the UK, including Global Head of Information Technology; European COO and Global Head of Investment Operations.

Prior to joining Invesco, John was Chief Technology Officer at AXA Investment Managers in Paris and was Head of IT at National Mutual Fund Management in Australia.


Michael De Lathauwer

Non-Executive Director

Michael is co-CEO of the Cardano Group and responsible for the business development. Prior to joining Cardano in 2015 Michael spent 23 years at Goldman Sachs with postings in London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. Michael was elected a partner at 2002. In the last 6 years of his career at Goldman Sachs he was responsible for the Pension and Insurance Solutions Group. Michael has an MBA from the City University Business School in London, and a Masters in economics from the University of Louvain (Belgium).


Patrick Luthi

Non-Executive Director

Patrick is Group CFO of Cardano and oversees the Operations, Legal and Risk departments of the organisation.
Patrick joined Cardano in 2015. Before that he worked for Goldman Sachs for 19 years. In the last 5 years of his Goldman Sachs career he was the CFO of the global Foreign Exchange division. Patrick holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an MA from the University of Geneva (Switzerland).


Troy Clutterbuck

Chief Executive

Troy is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector.

Having started his career with KPMG in his native Australia, Troy has spent the last 16 years in the UK working firstly for HSBC and then JLT Group where he spent nearly 15 years in a variety of senior roles including M&A, Strategy and latterly as CFO of the UK Employee Benefits business and Regional CFO for Latin America and Canada.


Tomas Kruger Anderson

Non-Executive Director

Tomas Krüger Andersen is Vice President and Head of Legal, Pensions & Investments at ATP in Denmark. In addition, Tomas holds several board positions in investment companies and investment holding companies.

Tomas is legally responsible for all of ATP’s investments with an aggregate value of approx. £100bn. Prior to working for ATP, Tomas was most recently a partner in a Danish private equity firm. Prior to that he worked at BankInvest, a leading Danish asset management firm, and at Bech-Bruun, a leading Danish law firm.
Tomas has a Masters degree in law from Copenhagen University.


Ulrik Dan Weuder

Non-Executive Director

Ulrik Dan Weuder is Senior Vice President and Head of Global Direct Investments at ATP in Denmark. In addition, Ulrik holds several board positions in infrastructure and financial service companies.

Ulrik has been working for ATP with private market investments for 12 years and currently manages a portfolio of DKK c.70 bn. Prior to working for ATP, he worked at the United Nations, the OECD and the Danish EPA.

Ulrik has a Masters degree in economics from Copenhagen University.


Joanne Segars

Interim Chair of Board of Trustees, NOW: Pension Trustee Limited

Joanne has over 30 years’ experience in the pensions and investment industry. In May 2017 she was appointed as the first Chair of LGPS Central Ltd, the asset manager for 9 midlands-based local authority pensions funds whose assets total £45bn. In December 2017 Joanne became a Trustee Director of NOW: Pensions, one of the UK’s largest auto-enrolment pension providers. She is a member of the Legal and General Independent Governance Committee which is charged with acting in the interests of the members of L&G’s DC workplace pensions. Joanne is Chair of the Joint Expert Panel on the Universities Superannuation Scheme. She is a Director of the Pensions Policy Institute.

Joanne was the Chief Executive of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (formerly the NAPF) from 2006 June 2017, having been its first Policy Director from 2005-2006. She joined the organisation from the Association of British Insurers where she was Head of Pensions and Savings. Joanne held the pensions brief at the Trades Union Congress from 1988-2001 and started her career as a pensions researcher and journalist at Incomes Data Services. She was a member of the Board of the Environment Agency in March and chaired its pension funds from 2017-2018.

She was a Board member of PensionsEurope, the EU trade association for pensions, from 2010-2017 and its Chair from 2012-201 and a Board member of the Pensions Infrastructure Platform and Chair from 2013-2016. She was a member of the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority (OPRA) from 1996-2006,

Joanne has a degree in economics from John Moores University and an MA in Industrial Relations from the University of Warwick. She was awarded the OBE for services to pensions in the 2003 Queen’s Birthday Honours.


Jocelyn Blackwell

Trustee Director, NOW: Pension Trustee Limited

Jocelyn has over 30 years’ experience in the pensions industry. In 1987 she founded Dunnett Shaw, a management consultancy that specialised in advising clients on pension administration processes, systems and outsourcing. The business merged with Higham Group in 2005 to form Higham Dunnett Shaw, which was sold to Capita in 2007.

Jocelyn was also the founder of the industry-wide body Raising Standards in Pensions Administration (now PASA) and chaired it for four years. She was the winner of the “First Woman of Finance Award” in 2005. She is currently Non-Executive Director at Inside Pensions, a specialist firm that provides independent scheme secretarial services to trustee boards.


Chris Daykin

Trustee Director, NOW: Pension Trustee Limited

Christopher Daykin CB, Hon DSc, MA, FIA, FSA, Hon FFA, was the Government Actuary of the UK from April 1989 to September 2007. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1973. Employed at GAD from 1970 to 2007, he worked for UK and many international clients on pension fund consultancy, population projections, social security, national pension policy, pension reform, risk management and the supervision of insurance companies and pension funds.

Chris is now an independent consultant and has a variety of appointments, including Chairman of Trustees of the Arts Council Retirement Plan and member of the Prudential Assurance Company With-Profits Committee. He was President of the Institute of Actuaries 1994-96 and Chairman of the International Forum of Actuarial Associations (the predecessor of the International Actuarial Association) 1996-97 and Chairman of the Actuarial Association of Europe 2010-11. He is a past Chairman of the Pensions, Benefits and Social Security section of the International Actuarial Association.


Adrian Kennett representing Dalriada Trustees

Trustee Director, NOW: Pension Trustee Limited

Adrian is a Director of Dalriada Trustees. He has 24 years’ experience in the pensions industry and is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute. His wider experience includes benefit rectification, debt compromise and scheme restructuring, scheme mergers and the implementation of complex investment strategies.

He sits as both Trustee Chair and a Member of the Board of Trustees on appointments ranging from those with liabilities of less than £10 million to those with liabilities of approximately £1 billion.


Matthew Simms

Trustee Director, NOW: Pension Trustee Limited

Matthew has over 12 years experience within the pensions and investment industry. His experience spans actuarial, investment consulting, asset management and trusteeship, having worked for KPMG, Willis Towers Watson, Hermes Investment Management and River and Mercantile Solutions.

He is an Independent Trustee Director for the Hermes Group Pension Scheme and the National Physical Laboratories Pension Scheme.

Matthew studied Mathematics at Sheffield University, has a Masters in Finance from London Business School and was awarded the Sir Joseph Burn prize by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, where he is a Fellow. He was recently selected as one of Financial News Asset Management Rising Stars for 2018.
