How is tax relief applied on contributions?

Our process requires payroll to take contributions from gross pay before tax. As a result, an employee’s pay is lower for tax purposes, therefore the employee will receive the maximum tax relief on their contributions.

Employer contributions are paid in addition to this, and employees will not pay tax or National Insurance on the employers’ contribution.
