Can plan start date differ from the staging/duties start date date?

Yes, this can be the case in two circumstances.

  • If an employer has missed their staging/duties start date, they will have a later start date than their staging/duties start date.
  • In addition, an employer could have a different start date to the staging date if they had chosen to commence the scheme as a voluntary scheme ahead of their staging date.
