Online security

NOW: Pensions takes online security very seriously. We are very aware of the risks presented by cyber criminals and that’s why we ask our clients to take extra care when responding to requests for information from NOW: Pensions.

Signs that an email might be fraudulent that appears to originate from NOW: Pensions may include some, although not all, of the following:

  • You weren’t expecting an email from NOW: Pensions and the email address may look unusual;
  • It requests payment to an unfamiliar or new bank account;
  • It contains a link to a website that may look like NOW: Pensions’ website but even one character wrong means it’s a different website;
  • It uses an generic greeting rather than your name; and
  • It asks for personal information such as username, password, or bank details.

If you are suspicious of an email you receive that seems to come from NOW: Pensions:

  • Do not open it – delete it immediately and remove from your recycle bin/trash;
  • If you do open it, don’t click on any links;
  • If you are unsure, call us to verify that the email is genuine; and
  • Please be aware that if you have received an email of this nature, you may be subject to further SPAM emails from other sources and it is important that your IT department are made aware.

To keep secure online:

  • Make sure the spam filter on our email account and computer is enabled and up to date and switched on;
  • Make sure your computer is patched and up to date; and
  • Make sure your computer runs a reputable anti-malware or anti-virus product and it is kept up to date.
