Yes. You can choose to postpone the enrolment of some, or all, eligible employees by up to three months. This may be useful if, for example, you have employees on short-term contracts.
You’ll have to tell your employees you’re postponing auto enrolment and issue postponement notices to them within six weeks of your duties start date.
If you’ve asked us to manage your auto enrolment communications for you, we’ll do this once you’ve successfully uploaded your first CSV file with details of your employees – your ‘pension data file’ – to your employer website. This file must show:
- the assessment category for each employee, and
- the date of the end of your postponement period, known as the deferral date.
We usually send the postponement communications out within 24 hours of a successful file upload.
